The ‘Signed by Saville’ Charity Auction Returns

Malcolm Saville (1901-1982)The “Signed by Saville” charity auction is an exciting collaboration between Hilary Saville (the niece of popular children’s author Malcolm Saville) and Malcolm Saville Society co-founder, Mark O’Hanlon.  Together, they aim to raise money for The Children’s Society who do such great work in helping vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the UK today.

Hilary has kindly donated a large number of Malcolm Saville books – some originally from her father’s personal library and other’s from her own childhood collection.  Using Mark O’Hanlon’s time (over 80 hours so far), the books are being offered for sale as part of two, grand extravaganza auction sales, hosted through eBay.  The first auction event, held in April 2015, saw some fierce bidding, achieved 103% of our original target (which has now been increased) and raised over £1,000 for charity.

The second and final “Signed by Saville” grand auction event will commence at 7pm on 17th October, 2015.  It will be a 7-day auction.  To find out more about the auction or to make a donation now, please visit the fund-raising webpage:

Update (25/10/2015):

A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who took part in the auction – all 21 books sold. Together we raised £1,057.44 from this second eBay auction plus and additional £20 in donations – that’s a fantastic result! Just by taking part you will have helped a young person and so thank you very much for bidding. The total raised across both “Signed by Saville” charity auction events was a staggering £2,113.10.
